Beer Cheese Fondue

Yield: 4-6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Few drops hot pepper sauce
  • 2/3 cup beer or skim milk or broth
  • Optional
    • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
    • pepper
  • Dippers
    • apple slices
    • French bread cubes

Directions:

  1. Make sure cheese is at room temperature.
  2. Combine cheeses, cornstarch, mustard. Add Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Heat beer and garlic until warm.
  4. Gradually add cheese mixture, stirring constantly, over medium -low until cheese melts.
  5. Serve with Bread and apple dippers.
